You selected the issue: Crash after updating to Windows 10 Creator's Update

Most often, this issue occurs as a crash on SteamVR startup or Error Code (307).

If your NVIDIA based machine is hitting the NVIDIA driver crash that was exposed by the Windows 10 Creators update, try the following in order. If the top solution does not work for you, continue to the next item.


  1. Update your NVIDIA driver to the latest driver (r381) that NVIDIA released. You can download the latest driver from NVIDIA.com or use the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to update.
  2. Turn off sharing in the GeForce Experience application
  3. Temporarily uninstall the GeForce Experience application
